Sebewaing police seize drugs

SEBEWAING — The Huron County Prosecutor’s office is reviewing evidence from a search warrant that was executed for suspected illegal drug activities at a residence in the village of Sebewaing.

At about 8:30 a.m. Friday, the Huron County Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the Sebewaing Police Department served a search warrant at 225 E. Sebewaing St.

“Seized were several small baggies of marijuana and an unknown suspicious white powder that’s being sent to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for analysis,” said Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson in a press release. “The cooperative male occupant/renter was questioned and released. Official charges will be sought from Huron County Prosecutor Tim Rutkowski.”

Hanson encourages anyone with information about illegal drug activity in Huron County to contact their local police or the sheriff’s department at (989) 269-6500 during regular business hours.
