PARENTS CAN NOW BE INSTANTLY NOTIFIED OF SCHOOL CLOSINGS, DELAYS OR EARLY DISMISSAL.

Reese Public Schools, in cooperation with the Tuscola County Advertiser, Mix 92.1 and www.tuscolatoday.com, is initiating new procedures for contacting parents and staff in the event of a school closing - the Reese Public Schools e-Alert.

Within minutes, school officials can use e-Alert to deliver a single, clear message to students, parents, guardians and staff members by cell phone and/or e-mail. This system will be used to announce delayed openings and school closings in addition to TV5, TV 12, TV 25, WKYO 1360 AM, Mix 92.1, WHNN and WIOG.

Members will be notified instantly if school is closed or will be dismissing early due to weather. A text message and/or an e-mail will be sent to all members.

How will the system work?

Parents and students become a member of www.tuscolatoday.com. When you become a member, sign up for the Reese Public Schools e-alert system.
THIS IS A FREE SERVICE.

The system is Internet based, allowing family members to maintain a secure, password protected online profile. You can log into your profile at any time to update your contact information. Maintaining the accuracy of your profile will increase the ability of the school to keep you informed.

The protection of your personal information is very important to us. Our alert system will not be used by any organization other than Reese Public Schools for the purpose of sending delayed school openings or school closings instantly.

Your online profile will enable you to:
• Input your personal contact information (cell phone number and e-mail address where you would like to receive alerts).
• Select Reese Public Schools e-Alert.
• Take advantage of all other features offered on the www.tuscolatoday.com.

The system will prompt you through the registration process. We encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity, as we will be utilizing this system for important school-to-home communication.
